To apply for a student visa for Italy, you must register on the ministry's website Universitaly, by submitting an application for the requirements and a preliminary evaluation of the candidacy.

The following documents must be attached to the application:

• Passport photo
• Valid passport
• A foreign academic credential in its original language is required for enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program. The secondary school diploma must have been obtained after completing at least 12 years of schooling.
• Sworn/Official Translation of the Academic Degree into Italian
• Legalization of academic credentials (or an Apostille if the country of origin is a signatory to the The Hague Convention)
• Declaration of Value for the foreign academic credential, issued by the Italian diplomatic mission (Embassy or Consulate) with jurisdiction over the territory, or alternatively, Certificate of Comparability issued by the Italian ENIC-NARIC center (CIMEA) or by other ENIC-NARIC centers.
• For the 55 signatory countries of the Lisbon Convention, the Certificate of Conformity prepared using the ARDI platform and, when accompanied by the CIMEA Verification Certificate, replaces the CIMEA Comparability Certificate; 

• Proof of proficiency in Italian is required for courses taught in Italian, and proof of proficiency in English is required for courses taught in English at the B2 level. If such proof is not provided, an Italian language proficiency test organized by the University of Foggia will be scheduled.

  Tuition Fees for International Students at UNIFG

  Tuition for international students is €960.00 per year, which includes:

• Enrollment fee: €160.00 (A.Di.S.U. fee + stamp duty) by November 30 (€50 late fee for payments made by December 31).

• Annual all-inclusive fee: €800.00, payable in three installments:
  Second installment: €300.00 by January 31
  Third installment: €300.00 by March 31 
  Fourth installment: €200.00 by May 31

  A student who is a foreign national, with income and assets abroad, who submits theEquivalent ISEE is required to pay the enrollment fee (A.Di.S.U. fee + stamp duty). Depending on their ISEE bracket, they may be eligible for a full or partial exemption from the annual all-inclusive fee.

  Pre-enrollment at the university does not, in any way, guarantee that you will be able to secure an appointment at the diplomatic and consular missions to submit your visa applications.

  It should also be noted that, as already stated in the ministerial circular titled “Procedures for the Entry, Stay, and Enrollment of International Students and the Related Recognition of Qualifications for Higher Education Programs in Italy Valid for the 2025–2026 Academic Year” (page 7), the university’s prior acceptance of an applicant does not confer any right to obtain a visa, given that the issuance of student visas falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the individual diplomatic and consular missions.

International students residing in Italy who already hold a valid residence permit do not need to register on the Universitaly portal, but must submit the following documentation:

• A valid residence permit.
• Passport photo
• Valid passport

Tuition fees for international students amount to €1,000.00 per year, payable in three installments:

1. €200.00 by November 30 (€50 late fee for payments made by December 31)
2. €400.00 by January 31
3. €400.00 by May 31
