The Equivalent ISEE (Equivalent University Economic Status Indicator) is the indicator used to determine university tuition fees for students who are not eligible for the standard university ISEE because they have income and/or assets abroad and do not generate income or hold assets in Italy.

According to the current Tuition and Fees Regulations—Article 5 (Enrollment and Registration of International Students)—students:

• foreign nationals whose immediate family resides wholly or partly in their country of origin and whose income and assets are derived exclusively from abroad;
• foreign nationals residing in Italy with employment income of less than €9,000 (dependent students) and a household residing abroad; 
• Italians residing abroad who are not registered with A.I.R.E.;
• Italians residing in Italy who are not self-employed and whose households have income from abroad;

They can access the sliding scale for the all-inclusive fee in two different ways:

• submission of the Equivalent ISEE;
• In the absence of an Equivalent ISEE, payment of the all-inclusive lump-sum fee provided for in the regulations.

Students with foreign citizenship who do not submit an ISEE Parificato are required to pay a flat-rate, all-inclusive fee of €800, divided into three installments according to the deadlines set by the University.

To obtain the Equivalent ISEE, students with income and/or assets abroad may contact a C.A.F. of their choice or one of the C.A.Fs. affiliated with the University; in the latter case, the service is provided free of charge.

The ISEE Parificato certificate must be submitted by the deadlines set for enrollment. Late submissions will result in the application of penalties as provided for in the Tuition and Fees Regulations.
