After focusing on student-athletes, the University of Foggia, in full collaboration with the "Umberto Giordano" Conservatory, was intended to cater to another specific group of university students: those who are simultaneously enrolled in a Higher Institute of Music and Dance Studies.

These new regulations also aim to promote the dissemination of music and music appreciation education within the community, as part of a broader effort to foster personal development.

This objective is closely linked to the principles set forth in Article 9 of the Constitution and in the Recommendation of the Council of the European Union of May 22, 2018, on key competences for lifelong learning (2018/C 189/01), which identifies a specific competency regarding cultural awareness and expression—particularly in the field of music—in full alignment with the principle that the arts and other cultural forms are fundamental tools for interpreting and navigating the complexities of the contemporary world.
