The University of Foggia has adopted regulations governing the Dual Career as a Student-Athlete: scholarships, tuition waivers, the option to enroll part-time, and flexibility on the exam dates.

The European Athlete Student “Dual Career Network” was founded as a result of a project under the European Year of Education Through Sport (EYES) in 2004, coordinated by the Oulu Sport Academy (FIN). The network is called “European Athlete Student,” abbreviated as EAS, and also known as the dual-career network.
The EAS is an international, apolitical, nonprofit, and non-discriminatory network. It is established for an indefinite period and may be dissolved by its members. Currently, the EAS is based in England and is subject to English law, but every four years the General Assembly may establish new headquarters or renew the current ones. The EAS is a large European network of institutions that provide talented athletes with the opportunity to pursue a “dual career” in elite sports and education.

The objectives:

• to support and to organize ongoing exchanges among institutions and experts from across Europe who work in the field of dual careers
• to create opportunities for professional growth for people working in the field of dual careers
• to build a digital knowledge database of academic research and of the best practices from across Europe in the field of dual careers
• to create a policy environment that meets the needs of talented athletes pursuing dual careers by collaborating with partners in the sports and education systems
