The State Qualification Exams to practise as a Food Technologist consist of two written examinations and one oral examination.
The first written examination consists of completing one of the three topics proposed by the Examination Committee, concerning the analysis of food products and the assessment of their safety, hygiene, compliance with regulations, and nutritional and sensory qualities.
The second written examination consists of completing one of the three topics proposed by the Examination Committee, concerning the technical and economic aspects, the controls and regulations relating to technological and biotechnological food-processing processes.
Candidates are allowed seven hours to complete each written examination. The oral examination consists of an interview on the same subjects covered by the written examinations, as well as a discussion of the papers produced by the candidates.
