Educational Guidance & Professional Placement Office

The Educational Guidance & Professional Placement Office coordinates and ensures the necessary support for all relevant guidance and placement activities, including those carried out by each academic structure, and provides students with individual information, guidance and support services. It makes use of the Guidance & Placement Services to the following  aims:

• promoting guidance processes through information, training and tutoring support and peer tutoring activities aimed at improving educational success;
• strengthening  the students’ decision-making skills and their ability to knowingly develop an educational and professional development plan;
• reducing the length of curricular pathways, dropouts and implicit educational disengagement;
• anticipating the potential demand for professional profiles of interest to the labour market and making this information accessible to students in order to guide their choices at entry stage;
• providing real-time information on the performance of the main educational and professional training variables;
• promoting services aimed at addressing difficult situations among certain categories of vulnerable or at-risk students in relation to their educational pathway and labour market perspectives (e.g., working students, students with disabilities, international students, etc.);
• linking the educational offer, especially during the initial professionalization phase, to the explicit demand and needs of the production system, through stable relationships with companies and professional associations;
• participating proactively in the design of pathways, activities and services promoting the inclusion, empowerment and educational orientation of younger generations in synergy with local stakeholders (third sector organizations, schools, etc.). (see Regulation 445/2020).
