The Level I Master’s program in “Operating Room Nurse” is divided into 24 modules covering the following topics:

The Master’s program aims to provide adequate theoretical and practical training in terms of knowledge, skills, nursing processes, and specialized techniques specific to the role of the operating room nurse, through the use of equipment and practical guidance on the management of traditional and laparoscopic instruments.
At the same time, it aims to provide the basic skills needed to communicate effectively with colleagues and other team members, even under stressful conditions; to understand the legal provisions that govern and influence the field of practice; to collaborate with medical staff during anesthesiological and surgical procedures; and to provide patients with the necessary psychological support.

The master's program lasts one year, for a total of 1,500 hours, corresponding to 60 academic credits.
Attendance at the Master’s program is mandatory. To earn the degree, each participant must attend at least 70% of the classroom instruction hours and 100% of the internship hours.
At the end of the training program, there will be a final exam consisting of the preparation and discussion of a written paper covering theoretical, practical, and applied aspects of the topics covered in the training program.
The degree to be awarded by the University of Foggia is a Level I Master’s degree in “Operating Room Nurse.”
This degree has academic standing and requires the completion of 60 CFU as part of the student’s academic program.

The Master's program is open to anyone who holds one of the following degrees:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing - Degree Class L/SNT1 in Nursing and Midwifery Health Professions
• University nursing degree and equivalent qualifications pursuant to the Ministerial Decree of July 27, 2000 (published in the Official Gazette, No. 195, August 22, 2000)
• Degrees earned under the regulations in effect prior to Ministerial Decree 509/99 and/or equivalent degrees.
