The PhD Students’ Council of the University of Foggia is the representative body of the University’s doctoral community.
Established to promote and coordinate the active participation of PhD candidates in university life, the Council safeguards their rights and interests and fosters ongoing dialogue with the University’s governing bodies.
It performs advisory and proposal-making functions on all matters of exclusive or prevailing interest to PhD students, issuing opinions on acts and measures and formulating motions and proposals aimed at improving training, services, financial support, and dedicated facilities. It also monitors the implementation of regulations concerning PhD programmes, reporting any issues to the competent bodies.
The Council promotes discussion, cohesion, and networking among doctoral researchers, including through the organization of scientific, cultural, and social initiatives, encouraging interdisciplinarity and collaboration across different research areas.
Composed of elected PhD representatives from doctoral programme boards and academic bodies, the Council operates according to principles of participation, transparency, and shared governance, contributing in a meaningful way to the development of the academic community.
