Learning objectives

The course aims to guide participants in selecting and performing endodontic and restorative techniques and to evaluate the interdisciplinary relationships underlying the treatment plan
treatment.
The course will consist of lectures, hands-on exercises using simulators, and clinical training at the University of Foggia’s Dental Clinic.
The topics to be covered are as follows:

  • Medical History, Diagnosis, and Treatment Plan: The Initial Visit
  • Clinical Case Documentation: models, X-rays, photos of adhesives and bonding, direct anterior and posterior restorations, indirect posterior restorations, inlays, onlays, and overlays, indirect anterior restorations (veneers)
  • Interdisciplinary Relationships: Orthodontics, Periodontics, and Restorative Dentistry
  • Endodontic Emergencies, Anesthesia, and Preparation of the Access Cavity in Endodontics
  • Root canal irrigation, cleaning, shaping, and three-dimensional obturation
  • Retreatment: Restoration of a tooth that has undergone endodontic treatment.

All lectures will be followed by hands-on exercises using simulators.

Organizzazione del corso

This course offers participants an educational and training program consisting of various integrated methods, structured as follows:

  • Lectures: 72 hours (12 CFU)
  • Practical Exercises: 48 hours (8 CFU)

Attendance at the course is mandatory for 70% of the scheduled hours.
At the end of the training program, there will be a final exam consisting of a written assignment on topics covered during the training.

Those who have attended the course and passed the final exam will receive a certificate of participation and 21 CFU credits.

Admission requirements

The Advanced Training Course is open to anyone who holds a master’s degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, in Medicine and Surgery and are registered with the dental board as specialists in Odontostomatology, or who obtained their degree under the regulations in effect prior to Ministerial Decree 509/99 (V.O. degree) or hold equivalent qualifications.
