Orthodontics

This advanced training course is designed to provide theoretical and practical training for dentists—or medical doctors licensed to practice dentistry—who wish to deepen their knowledge of orthodontics. The current need to train dentists with specialized skills in orthodontics stems from the remarkable advancements—both in the development of new materials and in the orthodontic techniques employed—that have taken place in recent years in the field of orthodontics.
The course is designed to provide participants with high-level specialized training in the field of orthodontics, accompanied by an in-depth exploration of fundamental concepts in the dental and maxillofacial disciplines that intersect with it, focusing on the most modern methodologies, and placing special emphasis on aspects most relevant to clinical practice.

This course offers participants an educational and training program consisting of various integrated methods, structured as follows:

• Lectures: 60 hours (10 CFU)
• Practical exercises: 30 hours (5 CFU)

Attendance at the course is mandatory for 70% of the scheduled hours.
At the end of the training program, there will be a final exam consisting of a written assignment on topics covered during the training.
Those who have attended the course and passed the final exam will receive a certificate of participation and 16 CFU credits.

The Advanced Training Course is open to anyone who holds a master’s degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, in Medicine and Surgery and are registered with the dental board as specialists in Odontostomatology, or who obtained their degree under the regulations in effect prior to Ministerial Decree 509/99 (V.O. degree) or hold equivalent qualifications.
