The ISEE Parificato (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator for University Students) is an alternative means assessment tool used to determine the university tuition fees to be paid by a student who is not eligible to make use of the standard university ISEE. This typically applies to students whose income and/or assets are held abroad who do not generate income or hold assets in Italy.
In accordance with Art. 5 of the Tuition and Contribution Regulations on the Enrollment and Registration of Foreign Students, the ISEE Parificato must be submitted by:
- Foreign students whose family unit resides entirely or partially in their country of origin whose income and assets are generated exclusively abroad;
- Foreign students residing in Italy with an earned annual income below €9,000 as non-self- employed students, with a family unit residing abroad;
- Italian citizens residing abroad who are not registered with A.I.R.E.;
- Italian citizens residing in Italy who are non-self-employed, whose family unit earns income abroad.
Tuition Fee Assessment
Students may have access to the comprehensive tuition fee scale through one of the following options:
- Submission of the ISEE Parificato; or
- Payment of the comprehensive flat-rate fee established by the Regulations if the ISEE Parificato is not submitted.
Students with a foreign citizenship, with income and assets abroad who do not submit the ISEE Parificato are required to pay a comprehensive flat-rate fee of € 800 in one or three installments, according to the deadlines set by the University.
