The University of Foggia has adopted a regulatory charter governing the Dual Career as a
Student-Athlete which includes scholarships, tuition fee waivers, part-time enrolment
allowances and exam dates flexibility.

The European Athlete Student “Dual Career Network” was founded as the result of a project carried out during the European Year of Education Through Sport (EYES) in 2004, which was coordinated by the Oulu Sport Academy (Finland). The network is called “European Athlete Student,” acronymized as EAS, and is also known as the Dual Career Network. EAS is an international, apolitical, non-profit and non-discriminatory network. It was established for an indefinite period and can be dissolved by its members only. EAS is currently based in England and is subject to English law; however, every four years, the General Assembly may decide to establish a new headquarters or renew the current one.

EAS is a large European network of institutions that provide talented athletes with the opportunity to pursue a “dual career” in elite sport and education.
 

Objectives

• support and organise ongoing exchanges of experts working in the dual careers field for different European institutions.
• create opportunities for professional development for people working in the dual careers field.
• build a digital knowledge database containing academic research and best practices from across Europe in the dual careers field.
• create a policy environment that meets the needs of talented athletes pursuing dual careers through collaborations with partners operating in the sports and education remits.
