The year 2011 marks an important historical moment for the people of Italy as we celebrate the 150th year of the Unification of Italy.
The University of Foggia has chosen to celebrate this decisive moment in Italy’s history during the Inaugural Ceremony of the academic year 2010-2011 which will be held in Foggia on 22 October 2010, at 10.00 a.m., in the Aula Magna of the University, in the presence of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Gianfranco Fini.
The ceremony, where there will be the participation of civil, military and religious authorities, besides representatives of the academic world, will constitute an occasion to reflect on the meaning of national Unity founded on common values, culture and history, but it will be above all an opportunity to stress the important role played by Universities in the process of constructing a united Italy, a role that is of major relevance today.
