Erasmus Networks and I.S.L.E. Network

The main aim of Erasmus Networks is to enhance quality, define and develop a European dimension within a given academic discipline or study area.

Networks are subdivided into the following two sub actions:

  • Academic Networks are designed to promote innovation in a specific discipline, set of disciplines or in a multidisciplinary area, e.g.: law, literature, economics, etc. They require the participation of at least 31 institutions from all 31 participating countries;
  • Structural Networks are designed to help improve and modernise a specific aspect of higher education organisation, management, governance or funding. They require the participation of at least 5 institutions from 5 different participating countries.

The University of Foggia is one of the participating Higher Education Institutions under the I.S.L.E. Network leaded by Agrosup Dijon, France, that has recently received funds from the European Union for the realization and implementation of a number of activities aimed at strengthening and diffusing the concept of Sustainable Development in Higher Education Programmes.

Agrosup Dijon is a French Engineering school located on the campus of the “Université de Bourgogne”. It is specialized in Food and Life Sciences and provides conventional and continuing education and training, as well as research and consulting services in fields such as innovation and social transformation through sustainable development.

The I.S.L.E Network “Innovation in the Teaching of Sustainable Development in Life Sciences in Europe” involves HEIs, Research institutes, and enterprises from 32 countries, either interested in introducing the concept of Sustainable Development in their curricula or willing to pass their know-how on to their relevant partners.
